Blake Conklin

Blake focuses his practice on municipal and real estate law, representing cities, townships, villages, public authorities, and private clients throughout Michigan. He earned his Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland, Ohio, where he clerked for the City of Cleveland Law Department and the Office of the United States Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio.

In his municipal practice, Blake serves as counsel to a broad range of public-sector clients in matters involving municipal governance, land use and zoning, public infrastructure, economic development, millages, and intergovernmental agreements. He has represented municipalities and public authorities in significant redevelopment and public infrastructure projects, including grant-funded public improvement projects and complex public-private development initiatives.

In his real estate practice, Blake regularly advises clients on complex acquisition, disposition, leasing, and development matters. He has extensive experience addressing title, survey, zoning, easement, environmental, and other due diligence issues to facilitate efficient and cost-effective transactions. His practice includes negotiating and drafting purchase agreements, development agreements, utility and infrastructure agreements, easements, construction agreements, condominium documents, and other real estate agreements involving public and private development projects.

Blake has substantial experience with public infrastructure and utility-related matters, including sanitary sewer and water system agreements, utility easements, municipal infrastructure disputes, and condemnation and eminent domain matters. He routinely advises municipalities and private entities regarding the ownership, operation, maintenance, and relocation of utility infrastructure, as well as related regulatory and property-rights issues.
